What We Collect
- Subscriptions you enter: Names, prices, billing dates
- Bank data (optional): If you connect via Plaid, we access transaction data to detect subscriptions
- Device identifier: A random ID for Plaid connections and account limits
Where Data Is Stored
- On your device: Subscriptions, bank connections, Plaid tokens
- iCloud (encrypted): Subscription backup using end-to-end encryption — only you can decrypt it
- Our server: Device identifier for account limits. We do not store your transactions or financial data
Plaid
If you connect a bank account, Plaid handles the connection. Your bank credentials go directly to Plaid — we never see them. See Plaid's privacy policy.
Unlimited Subscribers
Stripe handles payments. We don't see or store your card details.
Anonymous Community Data (Opt-in)
You can opt in to share anonymous data that helps all Pare users. When enabled, your app may periodically submit:
- Hashed merchant names and price ranges (never the actual merchant name)
- Keep/cancel decisions (randomly flipped 25% of the time for plausible deniability)
- Cancellation difficulty ratings and methods (randomized in the same way)
- Subscription pattern fingerprints (one-way hashes, cannot be reversed)
All community data uses local differential privacy — each value is randomly altered before leaving your device, making individual contributions untraceable. Data is deleted from our server after 90 days. A device-derived identifier is used only for rate limiting, not tracking. You can disable this anytime in Settings > Data & Privacy.
What We Don't Do
- We don't sell your data
- We don't show ads
- We don't use third-party analytics
Your Rights
- Unlink your bank account anytime in the app
- Delete the app to remove all local data
- Email us to delete server-side data
Children
Pare is not for children under 13.
